Interview with Nicole Marshall-Mclaughlin, Chief People Officer at LYTT

INTERVIEWS
Nicole Marshall-Mclaughlin, Chief People Officer at LYTT, October 13 2022

What inspires you about working for LYTT?

I’ve always been motivated by impact and have sought to be part of market-leading organizations seeking to disrupt the industries they operate in. At LYTT, I’m not only inspired by the opportunity to disrupt our industry and positively impact our customers whom we empower with operational insights, but also by the richly diverse group of people I get to work with.

I relish the opportunity to create a company culture where LYTT’s dynamic and motivated employees can thrive and do their best work.

What are your LYTT highlights?

Since joining this summer, my highlight has been creating our first Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) committee and launching our Growth Mindset program – experimentation is the key to disruption and failure is a great teacher. By shifting our mindsets to become more comfortable with these things we can gain ground quicker.

What are the challenges of working for LYTT?

I think the challenges of working here are the same as any scaling business – building the plane whilst flying is challenging and rapid growth means we must be more intentional about company culture.

What was your dream job as a child?

I had a bunch of dream jobs as a child: speech therapist, social worker, running my own nursery or being a singer, but didn’t we all!

Tell us something interesting about you.

Something interesting would be that as a child I spent a few years swimming and competing on behalf of a few of my neighboring boroughs – sadly that ended when I got fed up of going to school smelling of chlorine!
